You have to remember they were devised as two separate series running concurrently. I know that a lot of anime characters aren't present in the manga. It seems like they're playing against Kokuryo in the final match, and not Tenryu. Honestly it's been so long I read it I don't remember the details. They show Kanou in Ajax and Seisuke in Milan on like one page.
